Live Online Classes 

Join your favorite Willowbrook instructors for live, online art lessons beginning in December 2020! Below, you'll find information about each class offering and links to register through our partners at City of Tualatin. When registration for each class closes, we will follow up by email with a Zoom link to join your class!

World Folk Dance

Wednesdays from Feb 3 - March 10 @ 4:30pm

Join us for World Folk Dance with Janet! In this class, we will learn the moves to traditional folk dance dances from around our world, focusing on a new country (e.g. Israel, Turkey, Ireland, etc) each week. Janet will share artifacts and flags from each country and we will explore the world and learn how people move through dance! We’ll also do some of our Willowbrook folk dance favorites each week and of course, we’ll always end with the Pata Pata. No experience necessary, we'll teach you all the moves. Join us for all six classes in the series, or drop in for any one or more.

Virtual Drama: "Magic Mirror"

Spring Break: Mon-Fri, March 22-26 @ 2:30pm

In our newest virtual theater class led by WB Drama Specialist Kent Jenkins, we will combine the practices of live theatre with the possibilities of digital technology to create a virtual ensemble performance of the "Magic Mirror." Our work will culminate in a final Zoom performance using elements of music, dance, mime, storytelling, puppetry, video effects and more. This class will be held daily over Spring Break, Mon-Fri March 22-26 - you can sign up to join us for the whole week, or drop in for a single class Tues-Thurs!

Art and Community

Wednesdays, May 5 - June 2 @ 4:00pm

Ages 5 - 11   •  Registration opens soon!

Join interdisciplinary artist Yasmin Corea for Art and Community! Students ages 5 - 11 will be learning about their communities and how they can better their communities through visual arts. We will be discussing the topics of community, diversity and inclusion and how they can use this knowledge in their works. At the end of the sessions, students will present what they’ve learned to the other students.

Origami Series

Jan 12 + 26, Feb 9 + 23, and March 9 @ 4:30pm

Come and fold with a long time Willowbrook Japanese Art Specialist and Origami Instructor, Yuki Martin. Each class, Yuki will teach you the steps to fold one to two creative origami models, listed by date below. All skill levels are welcome, but 5-8 year olds may need adult assistance. Materials for this class are included in the class fee and can be delivered to Portland metro residents by Willowbrook staff. Join us for all five classes in the series, or drop in for any one (or more) classes of your choosing!
